Driver & owner of the #65 NASCAR modified
Press Release
April 1, 2026He is looking forward to another good year at Grandview and is very happy to have Jeff Paulson returning as his Crew Chief. He is not only great at setting up a car, but he is great at keeping Gunther relaxed and having fun. He is probably the best setup man that Gunther has ever had and maintaining a car, and he is by far the best Gunther has ever had for his morale. On top of that he is great at directing the team.
That team consists of Bobby’s brother Joe, Randy Miller, Bill Ohmacht, Paul Ruppert and John Foreman. Bobby is glad to have all of them back as supporting members, and he is keenly aware it is a team sport and he is grateful to have them as team members.
Gunther will be driving a 2024 Bicknell and his backup car is a 2022 Bicknell, and his primary motors are done this year by Sy Murray Performance and his backup motors are done by KB Performance, and his shocks are done by Fast Four Shocks.
Bobby has now completed his 42nd year as an on-air personality and talk show host in the Lehigh Valley all on one station and all on The Morning Show. He has been a fixture behind the microphone for 42 years and his show can also be seen on Service Electric Cable TV and Blue Ridge Cable. Gunther is proud of his accomplishment and all of the people who have helped him achieve it including his co-workers at WAEB and his incredible supportive listeners.
Bobby is active with many charities including Animals in Distress which raised over $235,000 last year. There was $100,000 raised for the Folds of Honor again in 2025. The annual Christmas Party for The Children’s Home of Easton was able to produce over $210,000 last year. And last year was his first year working with the Mercy School of Special Learning and his infamous spaghetti dinner with his own homemade meatballs that he makes and serves to his listeners, and in so doing he has raised over $100,000. Also last year he raised over $135,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
2026 is off to a great start with Bobby and his listeners raising over $105,000 for the Center for Animal Health & Welfare at the annual bowl-a-thon. Bobby rolls one ball for people pledging per pin, and this year with all that pressure on the line Bobby rolled…. well, we will leave it to your imagination.
Bobby continues to support other charities and is honored to be the MC for the last 15 years for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Student of the Year Awards Program, as well as their Man and Woman of the year program, now known as the Visionary Awards Program.
Bobby Gunther will be kicking off his 32nd season of racing with the Ninth Annual Bruce Rogers Memorial at Grandview, which he qualified for twice and with his best finish in this classic race being 9th place.
One other interesting sidenote, Bobby is happy to be supporting Jeff Strunk, one of Grandview’s most successful racers by loaning him one of his Sy Murray motors for the season. In addition to hoping he has a great season, he will be rooting for Jeff Strunk to have much deserved success.
